Silmo Academy, the educational symposium at the Paris-based optical tradeshow Silmo, is offering a €10,000 research grant for a project in the field of optics and vision science.

Applications for the grant are open to both individual researchers and research teams. The winning project will be selected by the Silmo Academy Scientific Committee and announced at the tradeshow later this year (23–26 September).

Silmo Academy marks its seventh year this year and, alongside the grant, there will be an additional day of education with the aim of attracting more delegates.

The symposium’s theme this year will be on reading and reading processes in different demographics, which will be explored in three sessions featuring leading academics and medical researchers.

Applications for the research grant must be received by 6 September. For more information on the research grant and Silmo Academy 2016, visit the Silmo website.
