National Eye Health Week

How to get involved in this year’s campaign

National Eye Health Week

Eye health professionals are being invited to promote healthy eyes and regular sight tests by getting involved in this year’s National Eye Health Week (NEHW), taking place from Monday 18 to Sunday 24 September 2017. Last year’s campaign reached almost 40% of UK adults, with over 4,500 activities and events, and this year aims to go even further.

From signing up to the campaign’s social media thunderclap to organising a community event, NEHW, organised annually by Eye Health UK, is the ideal opportunity for members to promote optometry and their practice. From 28 August, the campaign’s website will provide resources for download, including recipes, patient leaflets and posters, making it easy to get involved and raise awareness.

Free promotional packs – including copies of this year’s Vista magazine for patients and the public – are also available and will be distributed during the second week of September. Members can register for their copy by emailing their name and address to [email protected]

As one of the official partners of NEHW, we’ll be working with Eye Health UK, to promote the importance of sight tests throughout the week and in the run up. You can spot our experts in Vista magazine, covering areas such as MECS, driving and visible blue light. We’re also encouraging members to use our patient resources to promote eye health and will be sharing social media updates throughout the campaign.
