End of the CET cycle

As the current CET cycle draws to a close here’s what you need to know

IMG_0507

The current CET cycle began on 1st January 2013 and ends on 31 December 2015. You will need to complete all of your outstanding CET requirements before the 31 December deadline to ensure your name stays on the GOC's register and you can continue to practise.

When can I take OT exams until?

We will be keeping all current OT exams open until midnight on the 23 December 2015. After the 23rd, you won’t be able to take CET exams on our website for the current cycle. The last set of points will be processed on the 24 December 2015. Once we’ve uploaded the points, you’ll need to confirm them on the General Optical Council (GOC) website by the 31 December 2015. As a full registrant you need to earn and confirm the required number of CET points to be eligible to renew your GOC registration.

I haven’t received my points

If you haven’t received your points by the end of the day on the 24 December 2015, you’ll need to contact us on the 28th when the office re-opens. Taking into consideration our Christmas opening hours, the quickest way to resolve an issue is by emailing our CET team on [email protected], or you can also call us on 020 7549 2076 and our team will be available to assist you.

Make sure to include the following information when you get in touch:
CET
  • Full name (and any previous name)
  • GOC number
  • C-number/title of exam/s taken
  • AOP membership number
  • Contact number

Exams for the new cycle

The new three-year cycle will start on 1 January 2016 and any CET exams that are published in the January edition of OT , which lands over the Christmas period, will be available from the 1st of that month.

Take a CET exam

We’ve created a CET survival pack, a range of exams to help you tick off the last of your points.

For more information about the CET system, read ‘A guide to obtaining your CET points’. If you have further questions, get in touch by emailing [email protected] or call us on 020 7549 2076.
