AOP concerns over the new GOC standards of practice
General Optical Council’s new standards of practice have been approved by our Council, but concerns remain
The General Optical Council’s new standards of practice were approved at their Council on 29 July 2015 and are due to be implemented in April 2016. We are pleased to see some of our members’ concerns have been addressed, but we feel that some of the standards could be more reflective of today's practice because they could be difficult for employees to comply with.
We look forward to working closely with the GOC in the coming months to make sure members understand their duties under the new standards and can meet expectations.
