The WCO CooperVision Myopia Management Navigator was released in April 2024 – a new series of videos from WCO myopia management ambassadors highlights how practitioners can use the guide
20 August 2024
A new series of videos has been released to help eye care professionals make the most of a myopia management resource by the World Council of Optometry (WCO) and CooperVision.
The WCO CooperVision Myopia Management Navigator was launched in April 2024 as a free resource sharing advice on the mitigation, measurement, and management of myopia.
A series of videos with four WCO myopia management ambassadors has now been created to highlight how practitioners can use the interactive educational guide.
The ambassadors, Professor Nicola Logan, from Aston University, Ashley Wallace Tucker, partner at Bellaire Family Eye Care and The Contact Lens Institute of Houston, Jagrut Lallu, partner of Rose Optometry in Hamilton, New Zealand and director of Innovatus Technology, and Síofra Harrington, from the Technological University in Dublin, provide practical insights for using the tool to guide discussions with patients and families.
Dr Sandra Block, WCO president, said: “These videos are a powerful way to introduce the WCO CooperVision Myopia Management Navigator programme and our four expert ambassadors to optometrists globally.”
“Each ambassador brings a unique global perspective and extensive background in myopia management. We believe their knowledge and skills will inspire eye care professionals worldwide to continue to adopt myopia management as a standard of care in their practices to address this public health crisis,” she added.
The WCO introduced its myopia management standard of care resolution in 2021 with a focus on three pillars: mitigation, measurement, and management.
