Vision Expo announces virtual educational series

The weekly panels and interactive discussions will draw from sessions planned for Vision Expo East 2020 and new content related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Vision Expo East
Vision Expo is launching a new weekly educational series, Virtual EYE2EYE, aiming to foster creative dialogue, advice and information for the industry.

The series will include virtual panels and interactive conversations, featuring sessions drawn from the original schedule planned for Vision Expo East 2020. The event was postponed in March as the impact of coronavirus (COVID-19) spread.

Panels will also include new conversations addressing the challenges of COVID-19 for the optical sector.

Launching on Wednesday 15 April, new sessions will be released on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Vision Expo's vice president for Reed Exhibitions, Fran Pennella, said it is “more important than ever to stay connected, to support one another and to learn from each other.”

Ms Pennella continued: “We hope that this series will serve as both an inspiring outlet that encourages creative dialogue, as well as a useful tool for members of the industry to share advice and information as we continue to adapt to an unprecedented reality that is evolving on a daily basis.”

Held on Wednesdays, EYE2EYE’s ‘Coffee Talk’ series will share advice and strategies on protecting businesses and keeping them afloat during the pandemic. Topics include determining profitable projects that can be worked on from home to improve retail operations, engaging with employees during closure, and implementing e-commerce businesses.

On Fridays, Virtual EYE2EYE will host ‘Happy Hour’ which will feature conversations with creatives sharing their inspirations and advice on staying creatively engaged. These sessions will include panels originally scheduled for Vision Expo East as well as an adapted version of the ‘Next Generation of Retail Speed Dating’.
