Call for contact lens educators

IACLE awards are open for 2020

IACLE awards 2019
Entries are now open for the International Association of Contact Lens Educators’ (IACLE) 2020 awards.

Hosted annually, the organisation selects winners in three global regions who are invited to attend international meetings during the year as a result.

Applications are welcome for accolades in the Americas, Asia Pacific and Europe/Africa.

The accolades, which are sponsored by CooperVision, aim to recognise and reward the achievements of professionals in contact lens education. Each winner will receive a $3000(US) bursary towards attending the American Academy of Optometry’s 2020 conference, which takes place in Nashville, US.

The awards are open to IACLE members of three years or more.

Speaking about the accolades, vice president of global professional affairs at CooperVision, Dr Gary Osborn, said: “Continuous advances in contact lens technology require ongoing evolution in contact lens education. We are proud to continue our partnership with IACLE to recognise the educators who never cease to give their students the best possible preparation for a career in optometry – today, tomorrow, and well into the future.”

In addition, the association is offering three Travel Awards, each with a $3000(US) bursary attached to enable recipients to attend international meetings.

President of the IACLE, Dr Shehzad Naroo, added: “I would encourage all members to consider applying for the 2020 awards or perhaps nominate someone for an award.”
