Dr Arthur Back has been appointed managing director of VisionCRC

The Brien Holden Vision Institute (BHVI) has announced a new strategic roadmap that aims to help the organisation grow.
The process has included an organisational restructure, the BHVI confirmed.
Through the restructure, the Institute welcomes Dr Arthur Back as managing director of its science arm, VisionCRC which is responsible for translating research into commercial products.
The branch will be led by Dr Black and Professor Sankaridurg Padmaja. The organisation will build new revenue streams through an expanded professional services business that provides myopia management as education programmes globally.
Speaking about the appointment, CEO of the BHVI, Yvette Waddell, said: “We are excited the have Dr Arthur Back join us. He invented more than 60 patents and commercialised 18 products while he was chief technology officer at CooperVision. Combined with Professor Padmaja Sankaridurg, a pioneer in myopia research, we are at the forefront of our industry.”
