The nominees for the 26th Silmo d’Or awards has been announced ahead of the ceremony, which takes place in Paris on Saturday (28 September) as part of the trade show.

The awards are designed to recognise creativity in the profession with this year’s judging panel led by French designer and interior architect, Christophe Pillet.

Speaking about the awards, Mr Pillet said: “I am not seeking the extraordinary, but rather to reveal what is beautiful and moving in the ordinary.”

Among the nominees are eyewear companies Mondottica, Safilo and Marchon, as well as contact lens companies, Johnson & Johnson Vision and CooperVision.

Mondottica has received two nominations. The first for Zoobug’s ‘Butterfly ZB5038’ frame (pictured) in the Children category and the second for Maje’s ‘MJ1023’ model in the Optical Frame: Fashion Trend category.

The eyewear company said it was “delighted” to receive two nominations.

Caroline Abram, ic! Berlin, Stealer, Nathalie Blanc and Tarian go against each other in the Sunglasses: Eyewear Designer category.
