The organiser of Vision Expo West has announced that the 2019 event will offer attendees a wide range of new courses and workshops focused on leadership, marketing and patient care.

The Vision Council confirmed that the Las Vegas-based trade show, which takes place on 18–21 September, will feature over 300 hours of education.

Co-chairman of the conference advisory board, Dr Mark Dunbar, said: “This year’s Vision Expo will offer high-quality education that’s presented in new and engaging formats from the top leaders in the industry.”

A new series of education called the EyeInnovate Marketing Workshops will provide training on marketing, including social media, video and merchandising.

Myopia care, prevention and patient education will be discussed as part of a newly established myopia track and the Brien Holden Vision Institute will deliver an interactive session on how to apply the latest myopia innovations in patient care.

Also new is the Battle at the Sands: Case Challenges in Optometry competition, which will see eight panellists present cases relating to imaging technology.
