Opti welcomed over 28,000 attendees and 631 exhibitors during the three-day show, which took place at Fairground Munich on 25–27 January.

The German trade show expanded into a sixth exhibition hall this year with attendees looking for the latest innovations in eyewear, equipment and contact lenses.

In the Opti Forum, nine out of 10 visitors attended at least one of the 34 lectures. Topics included where customers buy eyewear now and in the future, the use of events to reach customers and increasing visibility on social media.

Fashion, lifestyle and eyewear bloggers selected Hong Kong’s Rounder Rounder as the winner of the Blogger Spectacle Award 2019. Over 500 Instagram stories were shared during the presentation.

Opti Showcase was dedicated to the customer journey, with attendees able to discuss best practice tips for their business.

Chairman of the organiser GHM, Dieter Dohr, said: “Opti earned top scores with nine out of 10 visitors and seven out of 10 exhibitors when surveyed by an independent opinion research institute.”

Mr Dohr added that despite the high ratings and 92% of exhibitors indicating they will return next year, the organiser will analyse this year’s trade show in order to improve it in 2020.

Opti will return to Fairground Munich on 10–12 January 2020.
