Registration has opened for Vision Expo East 2019, which returns to New York City’s Javits Center on 21–24 March 2019.

The event features an education programme and exhibitors showcasing new eyewear and the latest equipment innovations.

Vice president of trade shows and meetings from the event’s organiser the Vision Council, Mitch Barkley, said: “Vision Expo is deeply connected to the vision community and is committed to preparing a show that offers attendees a comprehensive learning experience as well as the chance to explore new ideas and innovations.”

Vision Expo will include social events such as the opening night party, which will take place at a new venue in New York’s theatre district, the Sony Hall.

The exhibition will also feature two new ‘neighbourhoods’ – Block and Next – that will showcase celebrity-influenced and independently designed urban eyewear.

New additions to OptiCon @Vision Expo include the National Federation of Opticianry School College Bowl, which will see 12 students come together to compete in a quiz on all things optical.

For the first time, the Vision Council is waiving all attendee exhibition hall registration fees until 31 December.

Mr Barkley added: “Offering free registration ultimately benefits the entire optical industry as we gather more individuals in one location to learn, grow and drive the industry forward.”
