The Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers (WCSM) took part in the annual City of London Lord Mayor’s Show on 10 November with a message to the public to ‘Look after your vision.’

The company paraded with giant Snellen charts, a two metre wide Moscot Lemtosh London frame with bobbing eyes, Ishihara boards that spelled out WCSM and umbrellas with a retinal image inside.

Master of the WCSM, John McGregor, said: “It was great to see such enthusiasm about the key message of looking after your vision. The crowds really got behind the company and we hope that we can build on this in future years.”

The design and materials were provided by Cubitts and Nikon UK sponsored WCSM’s green and yellow sweatshirts.

Spectacle makers volunteered to walk in the parade and paid for their own umbrellas that carried the message of having regular eye examinations.
