Optegra wins NHS surgery contract in London borough
The specialist eye hospital has been awarded an NHS contract in Barnet
04 October 2018
Optometrists and GPs across the London Borough of Barnet can now refer NHS patients who need specialist treatments to Optegra’s North London facility.
Optegra was recently successful in securing the Barnet Ophthalmology Community contract, enabling optometrists, as well as GPs from 69 practices, to refer NHS patients to the hospital for all community ophthalmology and cataracts services.
Speaking about the new contract, managing director of Optegra UK, Rory Passmore, said: “We are delighted to be able to extend our services to even more people throughout Barnet by progressing this contract.
“The beauty of a specialist eye hospital is that we have the expertise and equipment to treat every type of eye condition. So, for example, if a patient arrives for cataract surgery and through our extensive eye testing, the surgeon diagnoses a further eye condition, we can treat it, all under one roof.”
