Optometry Tomorrow 2019 programme announced

Professor Pete Coffey will deliver the keynote speech at the two-day event in February

The College of Optometrists has announced the programme for its two-day conference, Optometry Tomorrow, which will be held at Hilton Birmingham Metropole on 24–25 February 2019.

The theme lead for development, ageing and disease at University College London’s institute of ophthalmology, Professor Pete Coffey, will deliver the keynote speech.

Professor Coffey will present The London project to cure blindness at 10 years; have we found a cure? alongside a programme of clinical workshops, lectures, seminars and peer discussion sessions.

Other speakers include consultant ophthalmologist, Kam Balaggan, who will lead a workshop on how to spot posterior vitreous detachments, and neuro-ophthalmologist, James Acheson, who will present on neuro-ophthalmic problems in primary eye care.
