Vision Expo West prepares to open its doors to attendees
The Las Vegas show promises over 400 exhibitors, education opportunities and fashion influencers
24 September 2018
Vision Expo West is preparing to celebrate its 30th anniversary this weekend, with the event organisers promising a show that “will not disappoint.”
Over 400 exhibitors will be participating in the Las Vegas event (26–29 September, Sands Expo, Las Vegas) along with high-quality educational content, a showcase for cutting-edge technology and networking opportunities.
An addition to Vision Expo West 2018 is ‘BLOCK,’ an exhibitor space curated to showcase celebrity-influenced and independently designed urban eyewear through fashion shows and panel discussions.
The event also features the ‘NEXT’ exhibitor zone, highlighting emerging designers. New exhibitor PH Technical Labs will be displaying its smart glasses that self-adjust focus and connect to Amazon’s Alexa, Google and Apple’s Siri. Another exhibitor, Maho Shades, is a family-run factory that will be presenting sustainable and hypoallergenic frames.
The event organisers, The Vision Council, confirmed that CFDA designer Christian Siriano will also be among the celebrities at Vision Expo West this year. “Along with Transitions Lenses, Mr Siriano will be at Vision Expo on 28 September for a full line-up of style events taking place across the show floor, including a fashion panel with optical influencers, a Facebook Live interview with iCoat and Transitions Eyewear, and a presentation on bringing the runway into optometry practices in the Essilor booth,” the company said.
Vision Expo West will feature more than 300 hours of educational opportunities on industry advances and insights from industry insiders, including a panel discussion with Costco, MyEyeDr, Luxottica, NewGradOptometry, Visionworks of America and Walmart Vision on the range of business models today.
Attendees can vote for the ‘Vision Choice’ and the best booth awards, which include ‘Most Creative Booth Design’ and new category, ‘Best Brand Activation.’
