The president of the International Opticians Association (IOA), Fiona Anderson, has been re-elected to serve a further two years.

The former Association of British Dispensing Opticians president was elected alongside the president of the Association of Dispensing Opticians of New Zealand, Donald Crichton, who takes on the role of vice president of the IOA.

Speaking about her re-election, Ms Anderson said: "I hope to be able to build on the solid relationships of the past 18 months and attract new members and sponsors as we seek to develop a truly international association, which seeks to promote the science and art of opticianry [sic] worldwide."

The vote took place during the 32nd biennial IOA convention, which incorporated an educational programme and members dinner on board the Royal Yacht Britannia.
