Education on offer from across the pond

AOP members gain free access to live-streamed education at SECO International event in Atlanta

Atlanta

SECO International has announced that AOP members can access its newly launched live-streaming education programme, being delivered in Atlanta this weekend (1–4 March).

SECO’s industry leading annual congress provides education for optometrists, dispensing opticians, as well as front-office, administrative and business staff.

SECO confirmed to OT that the event is live-streaming its Special sessions and MedPRO360 Business Management Program.

“We would like to offer this programme to all of our associate members, including the AOP, free of charge,” a SECO spokesperson said, adding: “SECO has a dedicated website page for associate members that will provide complimentary access to all courses included in this programme. The education programme includes 14 hours of courses, which are scheduled to run from today until 4 March.

Special sessions include learning the fine art of diagnosing fungal, bacterial, and non-infectious keratitis through cases and videos, and reviewing new technology such as optical coherence tomography angiography and its role in primary eye care in 2018.

OT’s clinical editor and the AOP’s head of education, Dr Ian Beasley, who is attending the 2018 event, encouraged AOP members to “join the event virtually from across the pond, including student members.”

“For UK practitioners to be able to tap into live content at SECO 2018 and benefit from the latest clinical insight from the US is a great opportunity. As part of our continued partnership with SECO International, we also look forward to hosting one of their keynote speakers at the AOP’s Therapeutics London event on 23-24 September 2018,” he added.
