The International Association of Contact Lens Educators (IACLE) has issued a call for applications for its annual awards.

Applications for the organisation’s Travel Awards and Contact Lens Educator of the Year accolade close at midnight on 31 January.

Through the IACLE Travel Awards, three recipients will receive bursaries of up to $3000(US) in order to attend either the annual meeting of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO) in November, or the Association of Optometric Contact Lens Educators’ annual workshop this spring.

The Contact Lens Educator of the Year Awards, which are sponsored by CooperVision, aim to recognise and reward the achievements of those within the contact lens field globally.

The three winners will also win a bursary to enable them to attend the AAO meeting in November.

IACLE president, Dr Shehzad Naroo, encouraged all members of the organisation to consider entering.

Previous winner of the Contact Lens Educator or the Year accolade, Professor Jan Bergmanson, said: “It is a great honour and means a lot – to be recognised among such a large pool of potential candidates is significant to me.”
