Mercy Jeyasingham will step down as chief executive of Vision 2020 next week (6 June) after three years in the role.

Since taking up the position, Ms Jeyasingham has led the organisation in successfully increasing its profile within the eye health and sight loss sector, as well as among wider organisations and key influenced in the health and social care field. 

Commenting on her achievements during her time as chief executive of Vision 2020, the organisation’s board of trustees highlighted how Ms Jeyasingham has enabled it to secure funding for the data collection of a public health indicator on eye health, and helped form effective strategic partnerships both within and outside of the sector.

Matt Broom has been appointed acting CEO, until the work of Vision 2020 is transfer to Vision UK, the organisation announced.
