ACLM elects new chair
Gordon Jones is named as the new chairman of the Association of Contact Lens Manufacturers
16 May 2017
The Association of Contact Lens Manufacturers (ACLM) has appointed Gordon Jones (pictured) as its new chairman.
Mr Jones was elected into the role during the association’s AGM earlier this month, following a period where it has not had a chair.
Well-known within optics, Mr Jones is a long-standing board member of Mark’ennovy Personalised Care. He is also a past master of the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers, and has been involved with contact lenses since 1972 through senior positions with Hydron and Allergan.
During the AGM, the ACLM also decided on its focus as an association over the coming years. It will continue to further develop the UK contact lens market, and to work closely with the Optical Confederation and all the other UK optical bodies, the association confirmed. It added that: “With Brexit negotiations on-going, and the critical importance of the regulatory requirements for contact lenses, the ACLM will also continue to be an active member of Euromcontact.”
