Sight Care turns the spotlight on social media

Business expert Philip Calvert will speak to hundreds of independents at the Sight Care Conference in February

An award-winning social media expert, Philip Calvert (pictured), will speak for the first time at the 2017 Sight Care conference.

The annual business event for independent practitioners will be held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on 26–27 February. The conference theme this year is Independent, not alone. 

Mr Calvert is an expert on social media for businesses and 'online professional networking.'

Sight Care emphasised that Mr Calvert helps small and large businesses and their staff to understand and leverage social media and business networking in the changing sales environment.

In his talk, People buy people – but will they buy you? How independent opticians can leverage social media to win customers in 2017, Mr Calvert will explain why independent opticians cannot ignore the benefits of social media.

He will highlight how they can use social media to attract new customers, position themselves as a valued professional in the community and add value to their existing customers. 

Mr Calvert will also reveal the key mistakes that independent opticians are making with social media and how to correct them, together with proven advice.

Sight Care chief executive, John French, said: “We are extremely excited to have Philip at our conference as someone who is in demand internationally, helping brands and businesses to build and manage their professional identity through social media and professional networking sites.” 

At the conference for the first time this year, Sight Care will run a programme of masterclasses and workshops to offer advice to independent practice owners and their staff on the day-to-day running of their business.
