Chair of the Optical Confederation steps down
Chris Hunt will step down as chair of the OC on 23 October
10 October 2016
Chris Hunt will step down as chairman of the Optical Confederation (OC) this month when his two-year term comes to a close, it has been announced.
Mr Hunt, whose term leading the confederation officially ends on 23 October, said: “I have greatly enjoyed my role as chairman of the OC and have gained a real insight into the ability of the member organisations to work together for the benefit of the sector and the patients we serve. However, I now feel it is the right time to return to my wider interests in optics and take up other opportunities that I have put on hold whilst chairing the OC.”
He added that he would “maintain a close interest” in the work of the OC and advocate the merits of a single voice for optics.
The appointment of a new chair of the OC will not be made at this time.
