College chief executive to join the FMO
New role for Bryony Pawinska from 1 January
29 October 2015
The Federation of Manufacturing Opticians (FMO) has announced the appointment of Bryony Pawinska as its chief executive, with effect from 1 January 2016.
Following 12 years as chief executive of the College of Optometrists, the FMO believes Ms Pawinska is very familiar with the optical landscape and the priorities to move the industry and profession forward.
FMO chairman, Barry Dibble, said: “Bryony brings with her a wealth of executive management experience and an unparalleled knowledge of the optical market, all of which will be brought to bear for the good of FMO members. The FMO board is looking forward to working closely with Bryony to develop and improve a prosperous environment for our members.”
Ms Pawinska said: “I am delighted to have found such a fascinating new challenge, where I can continue to serve members in the optical sector. The college has always had a very good relationship with FMO members and I am looking forward to viewing the sector from the other end of the telescope, using my experience not only from the college, but also from past roles in commerce.”
Before joining the College of Optometrists, Ms Pawinska held a number of chief executive positions, including one at the Institute of Careers Guidance.
