ExpoCecop 2015 viewed as a success

Over 80 practitioners attend annual event for independents held in Birmingham

ExpoCECOP success

Over 80 representatives from independent practices across the UK attended the fifth annual ExpoCecop event held in Birmingham last week (4–5 October).

The event was held at the Forest of Arden Marriott Hotel and Country Club and featured a reworked programme to include four hours of exhibition time. There was a packed schedule of CET lectures and presentations on a variety of topics, ranging from retinal imaging to social media marketing.

The gathering ended with a gala dinner and entertainment; with this year’s theme being Cuba, the 2016 destination for the optical group’s loyalty programme, ViveCECOP.

Cecop UK sales director, Lee Woodward, said: “It’s always a pleasure to meet with both new and old members at the Expo and to speak with them alongside our partner suppliers.”

He added: “The aim of our ExpoCecop is to unite all aspects of Cecop under one roof to develop and build new relationships in a relaxed and enjoyable setting. The feedback has been fantastic and it is safe to say that we achieved our objectives.”

This year the exhibition was held in a marquee in the grounds of the hotel, attended by many of Cecop’s partner suppliers. The exhibitors included Altacor, BiB, Bondeye Optical, Clearlab, De Rigo, Eyespace, Marchon, Mark’ennovy, Maui Jim, Minima, Mondottica, Ocuco and Zeiss. The group’s latest suppliers, The Outside Clinic and Optos, also made their debut at the event.

Cecop is an international optical group which represents over 3,400 independent opticians globally, and more than 520 in the UK.
