SCLOSS 2015 to be ‘bigger and better’

Organisers say the second meeting of the Scottish Contact Lens and Ocular Surface Society will have four tracks following a successful launch last year

SCLOSS 2015 to be bigger and better

The Scottish Contact Lens and Ocular Surface Society's (SCLOSS) one-day event will expand from two to four tracks following a successful launch event last year, which attracted 204 practitioners.

This year’s event will be held at the Glasgow Radisson Blu Hotel on Sunday 29 November, with the organisers booking the entire first floor to cater for the increase in support from exhibitors. A total of 43 exhibitors will attend the Scottish Optical Exhibition being held in conjunction with the SCLOSS meeting.

Course organisers Dr Scott Mackie and Caroline Christie said they received requests for additional tracks for dispensing opticians and pre-reg optometrists and set up new tracks for them, in addition to a free track for support staff.

The organisers believe that SCLOSS is the best value CET for all UK delegates to attend. The reduced fee of £45 covers lunch, lectures from key opinion leaders and workshops on new innovations and equipment, as well as Peer Review, with 15 CET points for optometrists, contact lens opticians and independent prescribers, and 10 CET points for dispensing opticians.
