Independent practice owners urged to take part in survey
Sight Care calls for community opticians to help research on challenges of the sector
04 June 2015
Independent practice owners across the UK are being urged to take part in a survey launched by Sight Care in partnership with the sponsor, Johnson & Johnson Vision Care.
The aim is to better understand the dynamics of the independent sector. The deadline is Friday, 12 June and the results will be exclusively announced in OT.
The results will be compared to the feedback received from a similar survey launched last year.
This survey was designed to inform Sight Care about the attitudes of independent practice owners to contact lens dispensing, patient demographics and the challenges that they face today and expect to face in the future.
Sight Care chief executive, Paul Surridge, said: “We are launching this comparative study to discover whether the marketplace for community opticians has changed over the last year, and it will be interesting to find out how these changes have affected the sector.
“This is an important survey and we encourage all independent opticians to complete and return to us to help provide an up to date picture of the industry and uncover the challenges faced on a day-to-day basis.”
Mr Surridge concluded: “Our national PR campaign, aimed at driving footfall to community practices, grows from strength to strength and we plan to use the results to support media activities throughout the year to ensure the voice of independents is heard.”
Independent practice owners wishing to take part in the survey should visit the Survey Monkey website.
