Moorfields study day to highlight advances in oculoplastics

Registration is now open for Moorfields Eye Hospital’s oculoplastic allied health professional study day, which will be held on Saturday, 26 September, in London.

The day will offer delegates the opportunity to develop their knowledge, understanding and practical skills on a range of topics including revolutionising the role of the oculoplastic nurse practitioner, lacrimal assessment, botulinum toxin research and counselling the oculoplastic patient.

Delegates will also have the opportunity to put their questions to clinical staff who are leading some of the sessions, including Moorfields’ consultant ophthalmic surgeon, David Verity and chief ocularist, David Carpenter.

The course costs £75 and will be held at the Thistle City Barbican Hotel, Central Street, Clerkenwell, London EC1V 8DS.

The event is the fourth oculoplastic and allied health professional study day. It will feature an array of expert speakers who will be discussing issues, treatments and outcomes surrounding oculoplastic surgery and advances in nursing and new innovations within the sector.

Lead organiser for the event, Moorfields’ advance nurse practitioner, Nicola Dunlop (pictured), said: “This promises to be a very informative occasion. We usually have both national and international delegates attending and this year we are introducing a poster exhibition.”
