Nominations for the AOP Awards 2020 are now open with organisations and individuals encouraged to put themselves forward.
The AOP Awards, which are run by the AOP and headline sponsored by CooperVision, are designed to celebrate the achievements of individuals, teams and organisations across optics. The theme for 2020 is ‘Excellence in optics.’
This year nominations are being sought in 15 categories, with a new Hospital Team of the Year category introduced for the 2020 awards. The new accolade aims to recognise the unique role of hospital optical staff.
Welcoming the new category, AOP Awards judge and full-time hospital optometrist, Holly Higgins, said: “Hospital optometrists have adapted and created new systems to help with the ophthalmology workload, including being involved in extended roles, and the expansion of core services. I was so pleased to hear about the launch of the new Hospital Optometry Team of the Year award to celebrate their unique contributions, pioneering the way for future hospital optometrists and helping patient care in busy departments.”
For more information on the AOP Awards, visit the AOP website. To make a nomination, visit the AOP’s dedicated nomination site.
The winners of the AOP Awards 2020 will be announced at a dinner and ceremony in London on 26 January during 100% Optical.
