The organiser of 100% Optical talks to OT about additional revenue opportunities at the show
09 January 2018
100% Optical 2018 will feature a newly launched audiology section when it returns to ExCeL, London at the end of the month (27–29 January).
Event director, Nathan Garnett, told OT that the new section is sponsored by Amplify Hearing. He added that it is designed to showcase the full range of products and services to optical practitioners in one easy-to-navigate place.
“Feedback from previous show attendees and optometrists across the UK defined a growing trend for hearing services within opticians. Existing patient bases appreciate being able to cover their sight and hearing needs in one place and it provides the opportunity for an additional revenue stream within the business,” he explained.
Mr Garnett highlighted the TuneAmp hearing device by OTC, which has been developed to be sold by optical practitioners. He added that manufacturer Sonova, will showcase products from its Phonak and Unitron brands that help integrate audiology services into optical practices.
Other exhibitors include Eckel Noise Control Technology, GN Resound, Guymark, Intricon, Widex, The Hearing Care Partnership, Oticon, National Community Hearing Association, Gaes, and Audiology Business Central.
The show will also feature seminars on audiology, including CEO of Leightons Opticians, Ryan Leighton, on How a leading audiology service can help grow an independent practice.
