The finalists for the annual awards show have been announced

AOP Awards 2017

The AOP has announced its shortlist for the AOP Awards 2018, with voting officially open for 14 categories.

The black-tie awards ceremony, which recognises excellence in optics, will take place at 100% Optical, with finalists and guests enjoying entertainment as the winners are announced.

The annual event has grown since it was first introduced in 2011, experiencing a 75% increase in overall unique entries for the awards, which are sponsored by CooperVision.

Commenting on the growth of the ceremony, AOP chief executive, Henrietta Alderman, said: “The AOP Awards are all about recognising the variety of roles, and approaches within optics. Whether you’re an optical team raising the standard in patient care, or a practice that’s committed to innovation, we want to celebrate that, so 100% Optical – which offers education for the whole practice team – is the ideal setting for us.”

Ms Alderman continued: “With this year seeing more unique entries than ever before, our finalists have achieved so much by getting this far. I hope the profession will join me in showing their support and casting their vote.”

Voting will close at 2pm, on Tuesday 12 December with the winners announced at the awards ceremony on Sunday 28 January.
