AOP offers pre-reg contract query service

The AOP launched a pre-reg contract query service earlier this year and is reminding members who are entering their pre-reg year to take advantage of the free service.

The service was established to help members who have been offered a pre-reg placement and have a query about their contract, as well as for those seeking advice on an existing contract. It is also useful for newly qualified optometrists thinking about leaving the practice they trained in and want advice of any of the consequences linked to this, such as notice obligations and the repayment of training fees.

Those using the service will receive individually tailored advice via a telephone consultation.

To use the service, contact the AOP’s employment counsel, Heidi Blakey, on 0207 549 2018, or email [email protected]. Members will then be given a consultation appointment time and will be required to share their employment contract ahead of this.
