OT gets the lowdown on three new benefits for AOP members from affinity partner Lloyd & Whyte, which offer financial planning, insurance and practice services

The AOP offers a wide range of support to members throughout their careers, be it to students and graduates, through to those with an established career, who own a practice, or are preparing for retirement.

To further enhance the professional advice and support the association offers, the AOP has partnered with Lloyd & Whyte to incorporate a range of insurance and financial services into the offering – designed as a range of tools to help members in their personal and professional journey in the optical sector.

Financial planning, personal insurances and practice services form a three-way package that assists AOP members’ financial stability and development, covers everyday insurance essentials, and specialist business protection and support for independent practice owners.

Lloyd & Whyte has a longstanding reputation in the provision of insurance and financial planning to a number of leading UK professional associations. These include the British Dental Association, the British Medical Association and British Veterinary Association.

Speaking about the collaboration, Lloyd & Whyte chief executive, Matthew Pyke told OT: “Having worked with very similar professions for nearly 20 years, we are confident that we can add true value to AOP members. Our team is committed to providing a service that members will value, and support them in both their personal and professional lives. Standards of service and quality of products are what we are passionate about and we look forward to building a long-term service for AOP members.”

Mr Pyke added: “At Lloyd & Whyte we like to form long-term relationships built on service and trust, and you can’t do this by cutting corners. So our pledge to the AOP and its members is we will offer a well-rounded proposition that looks after your best interests. We have achieved the Chartered Insurance Institute statuses of Chartered Insurance Brokers and Chartered Financial Planners, which is further evidence of our credentials.”
