Description of role:
The candidate should endeavour to give the customer a positive optical experience and want to get involved with the patients long term optical care.
The candidate should be confident in carrying out all aspects of community optometry including dealing with children and the elderly.
The candidate should be confident working independently using best clinical practice and guidelines for referral to the local ophthalmology department; Fundus Camera, OCT, Zeiss VF Analyser & Topographer are all at the Optometrists disposal.
The candidate should be able to communicate effectively the appropriate prescription to the customer and support staff on completion of the sight test.
The candidate should be interested in fitting all types of contact lenses including myopia control.
We work in a friendly environment, there are no ‘conversion quotas’ to be met and test times vary between 20 to 40 minutes as required.
The candidate should have good record keeping ability and is expected to be current with all CPD and GOC requirements.
Salary is negotiable (depending on experience) and a flexible contract will be constructed to suit the right candidate.
Contract type: Full-time /newly qualified/ Part-time or Locum.
