Applications are invited from experienced optometrists for the full-time position of lead optometrist of the core optometry service area within the optometry department at Bristol Eye Hospital.The successful applicant will have specialist knowledge and skill in delivery of low vision, contact lens, paediatric and complex refraction services. They will be responsible for operational management of these areas of care delivery, including personnel and budgetary responsibility.
The post-holder must be GOC registered and have substantial post-registration experience working in the hospital eye service.
Bristol Eye Hospital is a teaching hospital providing a wide range of ophthalmic care to people in the Bristol area and across the south west of England. The optometry department is well established and integrated into the multidisciplinary environment of the hospital and is also involved in providing clinical management of patients with glaucoma, retinal disease and patients presenting acutely to eye casualty.
