Tomlinson Mobile Opticians was established in 1991, providing optometry services to the rural villages of East Yorkshire. We work from a purpose built mobile practice, equipped with an impressive level of technology: digital imaging, video slit-lamp, auto-phoropter, Easyfield field analyser and more. We offer qualified dispensing support but expect our optometrists to have an interest in and a working knowledge of dispensing. We have a small but growing contact lens business. We carry out some domiciliary work, predominantly to private patients in their own homes and a small number of private care homes. We have a relaxed appointment schedule: typically 11-13 examinations a day or 6-8 domiciliary visits, and we offer you the chance to work for a patient base who genuinely appreciate what you do for them.
Our practice is built and has grown over 25+ years on the ethos of doing the job better and adding value to the patient experience. The current owner is looking to semi-retire, while keeping an interest in managing the business, offering the opportunity for a candidate with an entrepreneurial outlook to undergo an accelerated training in management and marketing with the possibility of partnership and/or eventual succession.
Your working week will be approx 30 hours over 4 days including Saturdays. We are happy to negotiate a package that includes up to 8 weeks annual leave with a performance related bonus that will offer a real incentive to get involved in building on our success. For the right candidate there is the opportunity for partnership/eventual succession.
