An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced optometrist to join our team for three days per week. The post involves a significant commitment to providing diagnosis and management of patients in our glaucoma service working alongside our consultant ophthalmologists, other glaucoma specialist optometrists, and our multidisciplinary team. There will also be a varied workload of paediatric care, low vision assessments and specialist contact lens work along with involvement with our AMD treatment service. You will be expected to have or work towards the College of Optometrists Diploma in Glaucoma and to participate in regular teaching, training and clinical audit to enhance your knowledge and contribute to the training of others in the department.The Ophthalmology Department is based at Warrington Hospital and employs six consultant ophthalmologists with a range of clinical specialties. The optometry department consists of eight optometrists providing core and extended role services across two hospital sites and community clinics in the Warrington and Halton areas.
You should have a BSc (Hons) in Optometry and be registered with the General Optical Council in addition to demonstrable further learning post qualification. You should be motivated to provide the highest standards of patient care and to constantly improve your knowledge and skills to benefit our patients.
Salary: £31,072* per annum pro-rata, rising by annual increments to a maximum of £40,964 per annum pro-rata, subject to satisfactory personal development and performance. *Applicants new to the NHS will normally commence at the minimum of the salary scale.
