Independent opticians, Simon Falk Eyecare, has partnered with Opticall Yorkshire to provide eye care to its patients at home.

The at home eye care service, which will cover West and North Yorkshire, has been established after the independent observed that some of its patients were unable to access eye care as they were vulnerable or shielding due to the pandemic.

The service will enable these patients to access the same level of eye care offered in the practice, including an eye exam with visual fields, and glaucoma and eye pressure testing if required.

Patients will also be able to access the full range of frames that are available at Simon Falk Eyecare.

Speaking about the partnership, optometrist Simon Falk explained that he had been looking to offer an at home service “for some time.”

“We’ve heard from a lot of patients who are reluctant to leave their homes, as many of them are in the most vulnerable categories. We hope this service will provide them with reassurance that they are keeping safe, whilst still providing the vital eye care they need,” he added.

The service will be carried out by Opticall Yorkshire’s Caroline Thacker and Sarah Sykes.

Thacker said: “We are really pleased to provide this for Simon Falk’s patients, as well as anyone else in the area who needs access to eye care in their homes.”

Sykes commented: “We strongly believe in giving each patient the best care possible and are dedicated to going the extra mile to ensure every patient feels they have experienced five-star treatment.”
