Independent practice owners Clare Pearce and Francesca Bowler have been ‘Highly commended’ for Best Professional Business of the Year at the inaugural Welsh Women’s Awards.
The duo, who own Pearce & Bowler Opticians in Pentwyn, Cardiff were the only opticians to be recognised at the awards, which featured a total of 27 different categories.
The Welsh Women’s Awards, which were hosted at the Exchange Hotel in Cardiff last Wednesday (3 April), aim to celebrate the success of female entrepreneurs, businesswomen, professionals, civil servants, women in uniform and charity workers.
Speaking about receiving the highly commended accolade, optometrist Ms Pearce told OT: “Just to be nominated in the first place was incredible. We feel so fortunate to genuinely love the work we do and to be recognised for our hard work is like the cherry on top. We were proud to represent women in the profession of optometry in Wales and are excited to see what is to come.”
