Vision Express will be providing free eye tests and the opportunity for a virtual ride in the driving seat of a Formula One racing car at this year’s CarFest North event, taking place in Cheshire on (27-29 July).

The multiple’s mobile testing unit will be parked at the three-day annual festival as part of its #EyeTestsSaveLives campaign, where it will offer free comprehensive eye tests and raise awareness of the dangers of driving without roadworthy vision.

Anyone visiting the Vision Van can try on one of three virtual reality headsets, showing a 360-degree video from the driving seat of a hot red Formula One racing car. The video transports users around a race track where they can navigate past obstacles, sharp bends and other vehicles.

Visitors will have the opportunity to try out a paddle board game, where they will be asked six eye-related and driving questions and the Vision Van will also boast a free mobile charging point for anyone who wishes to charge their phone.

The opticians will also offer free trials of contact lenses with the support of ACUVUE and information on the benefits of wearing contact lenses.

Car Fest is held in aid of BBC Children in Need and is aimed at both car lovers and families – with events such as supercar racing, vintage vehicle displays and a ‘Car-nival.’ There will also be live music at the event.

Vision Express CEO Jonathan Lawson said: “We’re gearing up to take our Vision Van to the popular CarFest North event and have some fun while also highlighting the importance of maintaining regular eye tests.”
