Specsavers’ Platinum Employer scheme reaches 500 of its stores

Specsavers Enfield Platinum Employer

Specsavers in Enfield is the multiple’s 500th practice to be accredited as a Platinum Employer as part of a national rollout of the scheme to 800 branches.

Marking the milestone, the Deputy Mayor of Enfield, councillor Kate Anolue, visited the practice to present the directors and its 56 staff with the award.

Specsavers’ Platinum Employer scheme is designed and validated by Korn Ferry Hay Group. It was established to support the multiple’s joint venture partners in creating a good employee experience while recruiting and retaining high-quality staff.

Practices are assessed in five areas, including: recruitment, induction, performance management, reward, and learning and development.

Commenting on the milestone, HR director for Specsavers in the UK and ROI, Dawn McIntyre, said: “Having 500 stores accredited as Platinum Employers means Specsavers can ensure we recruit the best people to work in our stores and that colleagues are happy, rewarded well and have focused career development plans.”

Optometrist director at Specsavers Enfield, Alan Phillips, added: “For us in Enfield, the Platinum Employer process has delivered noticeable differences in team communication and engagement. The overall benefit is that colleagues feel more valued and motivated. They realise that their career is taken seriously here and that each role is important.”
