The Outside Clinic announces recruitment drive

The domiciliary service is looking to meet demand from a growing elderly population

The Outside Clinic has announced a 2018 recruitment drive to fill 35 new optometrist job roles.

The company is looking to meet growing demand for its domiciliary eye test and hearing service.

Professional services manager at The Outside Clinic, Matt Burford, said that with a growing elderly population, there is an ever-increasing need for patients to be treated at home.

“It’s a vital service with a lot of clinical challenges, but with today’s technology it’s one of the most exciting and personally rewarding careers in optometry,” he said.

Taster experiences are being offered as part of the recruitment drive, where potential candidates join an optometrist on a home visit.

Recruitment manager at The Outside Clinic, Jim Gilbert, said: “It’s a great way to get to know what’s really involved, and try out the equipment, without making any commitment.”

“Often people are a bit unsure, but when they see it first-hand, it’s a real eye opener, and nearly everyone goes on to apply to join us,” he added.

Opportunities are available for either four or five days a week, and the company is offering to pay location allowances for areas such as Cornwall, Devon, Kent, Dorset, Norfolk and Suffolk.
