Vision Express achieved silver in the healthcare category of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Midlands PRide awards.
The multiple was recognised for its Vision Van initiative, which saw Vision Express tour the country in its mobile eye testing unit during World Glaucoma Week (13–17 March).
Vision Express partnered with the International Glaucoma Association to raise awareness of the condition, and offered free sight tests to the public.
The CIPR ceremony was held at the Vox Conference Centre in Birmingham on 10 November and celebrates the work PR deliver for their clients.
Vision Express was also shortlisted in the Not-for-Profit Campaign category.
CEO of Vision Express, Jonathan Lawson, said: “Awareness events such as the Vision Van tour for World Glaucoma Week provide the opportune time to raise the profile of vision-related conditions and the importance of maintaining good sight practices.
“In the week following the tour, Vision Express recorded a record number of daily online bookings, which demonstrates a real need for initiatives like this and we will continue to take eye tests to the people for years to come.”
Vision Express has also been named as finalists for the initiative in 10 other award ceremonies, including the Retail Week Awards, the CIM Marketing Excellence Awards and the Corporate Engagement Awards.
