Carrefour to launch opticians
The French supermarket chain will introduce optical and audiology services in 2018
09 November 2017
Carrefour, the French supermarket chain, has announced that it has entered into a partnership with the French optician, Atol.
The two companies will work together to develop a new optical and hearing service under the Carrefour name, which will launch in 2018.
Director of merchant services and advertising management at Carrefour, Jean-Francois Pagnoux, said: “Carrefour is very proud to launch Carrefour Optique et Audition, which will allow us to propose new offers with a partner that is recognised for its expertise.”
“This is a real opportunity that fits into the strategy of Carrefour to diversify its services for its customers,” he added.
The service will see a range of optical and hearing products developed that will be available in Carrefour’s supermarkets as well as online.
Carrefour has 5686 stores in France and a further 4602 across the rest of Europe, which does not include the UK.
