Practices go head-to-head in Hereford BID Business Awards

A Hereford-based independent and a multiple will compete in the Employer of the Year category

BBR Optometry

BBR Optometry and Specsavers have been shortlisted in the Employer of the Year category at the inaugural Hereford BID Business Awards.

They will face competition from ethical supplier, School Uniform Shop, at the awards, which takes place on 5 October at Shire Hall.

Specsavers is also nominated for the Customer Service Award and will compete against Waitrose and Wilko in the National Retailer of the Year category.

Lucy Shepherd-Davies, a Contact lens optician at Specsavers Hereford, has been shortlisted as Employee of the Year.

BBR Optometry is also a finalist in the Independent Business of the Year category, going up against vegan and vegetarian health store, Fodder, and the Kup-cake Kitchen Café.

Speaking about BBR Optometry’s nominations, chairman, Nick Rumney, commented: “To have our role as an employer and a proud independent recognised by the BID awards is the icing on the cake. I would like to wish all the other finalists good luck at the gala dinner when winners and runners-up will be announced.”
