Vision Express receives shortlisted status in three prestigious awards

Vision Express has been named as a finalist in a trio of awards.

The multiple’s HR director, Kate Clayton (pictured), who joined the company on an apprenticeship at the age of 17 and has now been with the company for two decades, has been shortlisted for Personnel Today’s HR Director of the Year accolade.

Rising through the ranks from an apprentice, the multiple labels Ms Clayton’s main achievements as HR director as: retaining staff and maintaining peer satisfaction during crucial milestones including four acquisitions; the company’s support office relocation; the opening of its new central lab facility; and the introduction of new financial and operational systems.

Referring to the HR director’s success, CEO of Vision Express, Jonathan Lawson, said: “Kate is an integral leader within Vision Express and a team member who always leads by example. We are extremely proud of her shortlist, it is very well deserved.”

Vision Express has also been shortlisted for the Chartered Institute of Public Relations’ Midland Awards in categories for both ‘Healthcare campaign’ and ‘Not-for-profit campaign’ for its Vision Van initiative. 

The Vision Van is a mobile eye testing facility. During key awareness weeks throughout the year, the multiple takes the van on the road making stops across the UK to offer free sight tests to the public.
