Ben Fletcher steps down from Boots Opticians

The managing director of Boots Opticians, Ben Fletcher, has stepped down from the role after six years with the company.

A statement released by Boots acknowledged that Mr Fletcher had led the opticians through a period of “significant change” that focused on establishing the business as a health-led optician.

“Having now completed the work, it has been agreed that the next cycle presents an opportunity for new leadership,” the statement read, adding that Mr Fletcher has therefore “taken the decision to pursue new opportunities outside of the business.”

Mr Fletcher was appointed managing director in October 2013. Prior to this, he was finance director of Boots UK & Ireland, having initially joined Boots UK as commercial finance director in July 2011.
