Optegra Eye Health Care UK has appointed Rory Passmore as UK managing director.

Mr Passmore previously held senior healthcare roles in South Africa before moving to the UK seven years ago to work as regional director for one of the UK’s largest private hospital groups, BMI Healthcare.

He joins Optegra Eye Health Care at a key time in the evolution of the specialist eye hospital group. In addition to building a new hospital just off of Harley Street in central London, the UK arm of the company is launching a new brand identity.

While the brand will be launched to the wider medical and business community later this year, roadshows have already been held for staff in all of its UK hospitals and the head office. Mr Passmore said: “Our new identity will help us to raise our profile in the hospitals’ local areas, increasing our relationships with optometrists, opticians and GPs whom we continue to have a successful partnership with.”

While Optegra Eye Health Care is an international business, with 23 hospitals in five countries, each country maintains its own identity, tailored to its local market. Next year will see the opening of a new hospital at 25 Queen Anne Street, London.
