Marcolin has extended its licensing agreement for the design, production and worldwide distribution of Timberland optical frames and sunglasses.

The agreement with TBL Licensing, originally signed in 2003, has been renewed early for a further five years until December 2026.

The footwear designer has an ambition to minimise impact on the planet while delivering stylish, lightweight products and to reflect this, the eyewear ranges by Marcolin include styles made using bio-based materials.

Marcolin outlined that most of the sunglasses and optical frames in the Timberland collections contain from 35% up to 80% bio-based materials.

To mark the extension of the partnership, Marcolin and Timberland have announced plans to team up with Treedom, a web platform facilitating the planting of trees and forests worldwide.

Through the initiative, Marcolin has committed to planting over 10,000 trees by 2023, with more than 12,000 planted to date.
