Cutler and Gross has launched a new limited edition frame celebrating the 40th anniversary of founder Tony Gross’ favourite pair of frames.

The new 9101 Limited Edition frame commemorates the 0101, Cutler and Gross’ first factory-produced frame. The frame was produced in the Italian Dolomites in 1982, where the frames are still made.

The limited edition model is crafted with gold-plated hardware, encased in translucent crystal acetate, and also features integrated photo-chromatic Zeiss lenses, which darken when exposed to sunlight.

Only 101 units of the limited edition frame have been made available globally. The frames are handcrafted, with forty-two tailored steps involved in the production over a 12-week process.

The style itself will also be launched as a permanent model within the Cutler and Gross Spring/Summer 2022 collection, with four optical and sunglass models.

The optical colourways will include: black on Havana, granny chic, olive, and crystal, with two lens sizes. The sunglasses come in black and Havana, granny chic, olive and dusk.
